What is ClearType font?

ClearType, Microsoft's implementation of font-enhancement technology is capable of making fonts appear clearer on liquid crystal display (LCD) screens. It improves readability on digital interfaces such as those found in Laptops and flat panel displays. According to Microsoft it also improves some kind of visibility in CRT screens as well.

 

To turn on clear type font

1) Go to Control Panel

2) Double Click on 'Display Properties'

3) Click on 'Appearance' tab

4) Click on 'Effects'

5) Make sure 'Use the following method to smooth edges of screen fonts' is checked. Under it from the dropdown box select 'ClearType'

6) Click on 'OK'

7) Click on 'Apply' and see the difference. Give your eyes a couple of minutes to adjust to the new font. You would probably hate it at first but maybe you might like it if you use it for an hour or so
